Business Manager Groups

System Business and Finance Group – UIC and UIS

The System Business and Finance Group is managed and facilitated by University Outreach. The group meets every other month and consists of employees with business and finance roles from both University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and University of Illinois Springfield (UIS). The purpose of the System Business and Finance Group is to:

  • Provide an opportunity to hear from System Office leadership regarding new initiatives and important business and finance updates.
  • Facilitate communication and understanding of new and updated business and finance policies and procedures. Deliver updates and information regarding valuable training, tips, and tools.

UIUC Business Manager Group

The UIUC Business Managers Group is an independent, volunteer-led group that operates by committees. The business professionals gather monthly to exchange ideas, receive business and finance related updates, and network with peers. Business and Finance Advisory Committees

UIC Business and Finance Advisory Committee

The UIC Business and Finance Advisory Committee is managed and facilitated by University Outreach. The committee is comprised of UIC departmental business managers and System Office leadership. The purpose of the committee is to:

  • Provide an opportunity to share concerns or service gaps in business and finance services and any recommended changes in policies and procedures.
  • Share feedback regarding new business and finance initiatives.
  • Offer input on university business and finance training needs, priorities, and desired delivery methods.

UIC Reporting Subcommittee

The mission of the UIC Reporting Subcommittee is to understand the reporting needs of the University of Illinois Chicago and work to fill those needs in various ways. Examples include providing input to other development projects, building new reports when appropriate, and promoting existing reports and resources. The UIS Business and Finance Advisory Committee is managed and facilitated by University Outreach. The committee is comprised of UIS departmental business managers and System Office leadership. The purpose of the committee is to:

UIUC Business Affairs Committee

Policy Advisory Group (PAG)

The Policy Advisory Group (PAG) is a cohort of business office employees, representing UIC, UIS, UIUC, and System Office units.

The PAG:

  • Reviews draft policies with a “boots on the ground” business office perspective,
  • Provides customer-focused input to improve current policies, and
  • Assists in the annual review of specific policies within the Business & Finance Policy Manual to ensure all policies are easy to understand and implement.

Requests for PAG membership are sent out via Business and Finance News around August of each year, asking prospective members to self-nominate. The Business & Finance Policy Office selects a cohort of roughly 10 business office employees to serve a one-year term from roughly October–September.
